Medical Device Reprocessing Technician for Accredited Cosmetic Surgery Facility

Clinic 805, in beautiful Victoria BC, is a fully accredited Surgical Facility located in the core of Victoria’s vibrant downtown Humboldt Valley. Dr. Smith and the staff of Clinic 805 pride themselves on a team approach. Each staff member brings their individual expertise, forming a balanced complement of compassionate care for our patients and their surgical and skincare needs.

We have an opening for an experienced MDR Technician

Work Site: Clinic 805, 805 Fairfield Road, Victoria BC

Status: Casual

Hours: Variable hours depending on coverage needed, ie: 0730-1530, 0730-1730, partial shifts (4-6hrs), full vacation coverage, etc. No evenings, nights or weekends.

Qualifications:

· Successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing course

· Good work and attendance record

· Demonstrated teamwork, effective communication and positive interpersonal skills

· Demonstrated organizational skills and able to work independently

· Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology

· Minimum 2 years of experience in MDR is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

· Sorting and processing of contaminated surgical instruments

· Performing quality inspection of instruments after washing, during packaging and preparing items for sterilization

· Bacterial monitoring of sterilizers and performing leak tests

· Monitoring inventory of sterile supplies and consumables

· Monitoring supply level in treatment rooms, collecting used instruments

· Ordering and distribution of supplies

· Assist and support staff of Clinic 805 by performing duties throughout the day related to environmental cleaning and waste disposal

· Responsible for OR changeovers and terminal cleans

· Managing of laundry tasks, other miscellaneous tasks
