As a Health care Aide (HCA) at Olds hospital and Care Centre, you will performing a broad scope of HCA duties in accordance with Alberta health Services Policies and nursing care standards under the direction of the Registered Nurses / Licensed practical Nurse. You will work with patients and an inter-professional team in the Medical / Surgical area whilst demonstrating a professional, positive attitude; and excellent communication and inter-professional skills. Olds residents benefit from the close proximity to big city amenities while also being able to enjoy a wide variety of recreational facilities and amenities within the town, such as the Aquatic Centre for swimming, Sportplex for skating. Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
Additional Required Qualifications:Minimum one year experience, in the past two years, Working within an acute care setting at full scope of practice. Ability to work as an effective team member, to accept and request direction as required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer skills and strong knowledge and experience using meditech and Connect Care.
Preferred Qualifications:Wound care education. Non Violent Crisis intervention.
