JOB TITLE: Field Service Technician

We are an aggregate crushing company with quarries and rock pits across the Okanagan. We offer superior asphalt, concrete and road based aggregate products for commercial and residential projects. New Shop coming in Winter 2022-23!!

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Field Service Technician maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Perform service, repair and diagnostic and preventative maintenance procedures on heavy duty equipment.

Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems, accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken and time, and continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.

Checking and maintaining equipment fluid levels.

Troubleshooting equipment issues, determine and perform repairs.

Other duties as needed.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.

Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

Enrolled as an Apprentice or certified Journeyman in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred

Class 5 Drivers License

Air Endorsement an asset

Experience:

Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is an asset.

KEY COMPETENCIES

Capable of physical work and heavy lifting

Able to work outside in extreme hot & cold weather

Eager to work in a safety conscious manner

Strong planning, organization and time management skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Handling heavy loads
Bend, kneel and able to life excess of 50lbs.
Long periods of sitting and/or standing
Attention to detail
Must adapt to high stress situations

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40.00-$45.00 per hour
