We have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Reliability Engineer in the Fibreline Department. The Reliability
Engineer is responsible for optimizing equipment performance to achieve reliability and production targets.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible in managing area pressure equipment, piping and tanks as per the Integrity Management System (IMS)
- Assess and optimize production maintenance strategies
- Make recommendations to prevent equipment failures
- Assist with the development and review of procedures to improve maintenance practices
- Make recommendations to improve system design to increase reliability
- Support maintenance in troubleshooting and evaluation repair options
- Review inspection reports and recommend courses of action, as well as providing input on the Risk Based Inspection frequencies for the
QA/QC group
- Conduct failure analysis on troublesome equipment and recommend actions to resolve
- Provide expertise on mill lubrication and overall effectiveness of lubrication and oil analysis programs
- Participate in reliability meetings and workshops
- Provide technical support to all departments
- Provide input on three year Capital Planning and Major Maintenance budgeting
- Additional duties, as required
Qualifications and Experience
Candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a Certificate in Engineering Technology with experience in the related fields of rotating equipment, pressure vessels, or process piping. Professional memberships through ASET or APEGA, or eligibility to attain a membership, is required.
Candidates should also have:
- Demonstrated knowledge with pressure equipment, pumps, bearings, oil analysis and hydraulics
- Have a good understanding of vibration analysis technology and data interpretation
- Process safety management, particularly mechanical integrity
- Decision-making skills and leadership qualities, including team building skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Basic Project Management skills
- Demonstrated relationship management skills including the ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence with key stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills with ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
- Demonstrated knowledge of various construction and fabrication codes, standards and practices
