Star Buds Cannabis Co. is seeking an Assistant Manager/Cannabis Sales Associate aka a Budtender to join our team at our ROTHESAY & ST. JAMES neighbourhood dispensaries.

We provide a comfortable setting for customers to learn about all types of cannabis products, and our carefully curated selection includes flower strains, pre-rolls, vape products, edibles, beverages, extracts, vaporizers, topicals, tinctures, accessories, and more. We strive to educate customers, normalize cannabis usage, and contribute to our local communities, and pride ourselves on our product selection, pricing, and availability.

As our Assistant Manager, you will help provide our customers with an exceptional experience and assist in managing the day-to-day operations of our store.

Your responsibilities will include welcoming and assisting all customers, professionally and politely handling all inquiries, feedback, complaints, or concerns, educating customers about our products, processing payments with POS (Cova) and computer systems, opening and closing the store accurately and on time, staying up to date on offers and specials, responding to customer inquiries with comprehensive knowledge and accuracy, maintaining sales goals on a daily and weekly basis, closing and completing all end of day reports and procedures, ensuring the store is kept clean and tidy, assisting in traffic flow management, and assist with all other day to day operations at the store level - in collaboration with the Regional Manager and ownership.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Previous retail or customer service experience, with cannabis sales experience preferred, or experience in a regulated environment (liquor sales/service, cannabis production, etc)
• You should have a clean Criminal Record background check (dated within the last 6 months)
• Valid Manitoba Smart Choices Cannabis certification
• You must be at least 19 years of age
• Polished professionalism, excellent communication and organizational skills
• The ability to work: well with others, alone and with little supervision.
• You should have knowledge of, or the ability to learn about: the cannabis plant, strains and products
• With a strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and charisma.
• You should have the ability to ensure a high level of customer interaction, suggestive selling, and enthusiasm, with an energetic and highly determined attitude. You must be a people person!
• Working knowledge of Retail Cannabis and passion for cannabis are assets.
• Basic proficiency in Google Applications & MS Excel
• POS systems, as well as cash handling and taking customer payments, are also required (Cova & Dutchie)
• Reliable transportation to and from work is required, as our delivery system is currently operating in-house, and staff in the management level are responsible for moving internal inventory transfers and bank deposits between our 3 WPG locations on a weekly or as-needed basis.
