Architectural Designer - Product Development

We are looking for an Architectural Designer to bring exceptional design acumen and nuanced design sensibility while collaborating with others to deliver new plans, fresh elevations, and trend setting products/specifications across all our product lines.

The Architectural Designer - Product Development, will be responsible for the following:

  • New product design (from concept to completion)
  • Create and present 2D and 3D (Interior and Exterior) files including renderings where required.
  • Integrate new products/applications into current product lines and specifications
  • Liaise with Interior Designers and External Contractors (Engineers, Architects, Trade Partners).
  • Research new technologies, systems, and building applications.
  • Research new trends in product lines, space planning, elevations concepts.
  • Participate in Specification creation and review.
  • Elevation updates and refinements to existing product lines.
  • Project due diligence including Initial Site planning, Suite Layout, and Building Elevation Development.
  • Apply Value Engineering Principles where required.

What you need to bring to Cantiro:

  • 2-3 years experience in commercial including mixed-use projects is required (retail/hospitality is a bonus). Experience with Residential and Multi-family in the Edmonton area is an asset.
  • A Diploma in Architectural Technology or an IDT diploma with a passion for buildings and structure is required. If you can demonstrate your creative product development experience, we want to hear from you.
  • Demonstrate versatile communication and problem-solving skills and is equally comfortable with words and visuals. You need to present the “amazing” design you create.
  • Experience in Building Codes and applicable Zoning Bylaws. You will need to read, interpret, and apply various building codes and zoning regulations into your design concepts.
  • You will need to take your creative designs and concepts and communicate digitally with common programs such as: ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, or Chief Architect. 3D Rendering is a bonus!
  • A sense of humour along with a drive to get projects over the finish line will also serve you well.
